Common in New England, a Walking River is any river that has enough exposed rocks to enable a person to walk from one bank to another without getting wet. Many of New Hampshire's rivers qualify in the summer, after the spring run-off has gone.
What does that have to do with software? The walking river is an unsual product of nature. It is both elegant and beautiful, yet very counter-intuitive. Who would guess that you could walk across a river? We believe that the best software is also beautiful and elegant. And like the walking river, the perfect solution to a problem is often counter-intuitive, and seldom what you'd expect. |
