Batch Zips - Validate Your Mailing List without Outlook Print E-mail

With BatchZips™, You'll Never Have an Invalid Address Again!

If you maintain a large database of addresses and regularly use the postal service for your marketing mailings, then you've inevitably gotten back your share of invalid addresses. As the cost of postage continues to increase, each returned mailing is simply wasted money. Address and zip code databases exist, but they're expensive and become quickly out of date. What if there were a way to validate your addresses using an online service before mailing them? Now there is! BatchZips is the solution for you!

Like our GetZips product, which relies on Microsoft Outlook, BatchZips validates each and every address in your mailing list at the touch of a button. Unlike GetZips, however, BatchZips installs as a stand-alone application in Windows. Both products work their magic using a live web service (a constant internet connection is necessary).

To use BatchZips, follow these simple steps:

  • Export your existing mailing list into a comma separated values (CSV) file - most programs will do this for you, so check the documentaion for your particular application
  • BatchZips will import your existing mailing list
  • Match the appropriate mailing list columns to their respective address parts (street, city, state, etc.).
  • Click Start Batch.
  • When the batch is complete, save the results and re-import them into your mailing list application.

If BatchZips cannot validate an address, it lets you know with a easy-to-read status indicator, allowing you to edit the record and try again, or simply delete the address entirely.

BatchZips is currently available as a free demo that you can try. Internet Explorer users can simply point their browsers at http://www.walkingriver.com/download/BatchZips.application to download and install the demo version immediately. BatchZips uses Microsoft's ClickOnce facility to automate software installation and upgrades. As new versions are created, you'll always get the latest upgrade. The only requirement is that you're running .NET Framework 3.5, Service Pack 1.

FireFox users can install an update to the .NET Framework that will allow them to use the same ClickOnce installation feature.

Users of other browsers (or FireFox users who don't wish to install the above mentioned upgrade) can take advantage of ClickOnce by following these instructions:
